Apparently someone out there, who shall remain nameless (though he has the same first name as me, lives in Baltimore, and has calves the size of grapefruits) thinks that going 43 weeks without posting anything here is a bit excessive. This is probably true. So let's do a little rundown as to what's been going on:
At the end of last year, I resigned my job at NIST for "personal reasons" under somewhat unpleasant circumstances -- but that's all I'm going to say about that.
In January of this year, I started a new job at Assurance Technology Corporation, which is a small engineering firm that does a lot of work for NASA and DoD. I'm on the NASA side performing simulations of charged particle detector instruments that will fly on the next generation of NOAA weather satellites.
At first I found the new job interesting, but now I find it rather intolerable and boring.
I was dumped by my boyfriend of nearly 2 years over an otherwise very pleasant weekend beach trip to Rehoboth, DE.
Needless to say, these events didn't really make me all that happy.
After the break-up, I went to the gym a lot more, if only because I knew it would improve my mood.
I seem to have lost about 12 pounds so far. That's good.
This means that the Wii no longer thinks I'm obese. Score!
I've been looking for a new job. I've had an interview for a job I'm sure I would really enjoy. I should hear back about it in mid-October.
